Finally done with these orders.  One order for Yenny in Surabaya :) and another one for my Nephew's teacher's present.  I kinda like making these pouches :) I love combining the fabrics :).  I hope the recipients are happy with the fabrics choices :).

library bag for li'l misfit

Finally, after the semester is almost over, I've made a library bag for little misfit hahahaha...I know I know...shame on me :), and it's such a simple bag too!  The outer fabric is this beautiful laminated fabric, I forgot the brand, but I got it from Australia :) and she was very happy to have it...sorry for the long delay, baby.

happy happy spoonfulzine and a giveaway too

It's finally out!! Awhile ago, the talented Anthea from Spoonfulzine emailed me to participate on her 3rd spoonfulzine edition.  She requested a Galeon themed handmade things.  So, I've decided to go ahead and make a gocco prints :).  It is a beautiful little magazine and quoting from her blog:

jis bazaar

We went to JIS Bazaar last weekend.  It was interesting :)  I found these beaded boxes! They're just amazing...These boxes are covered in beads!!!!

we're back...

from a long slumber of coughs, sneezes and fevers :)...but we're almost on our feet now :) and yes, more sewing done...a little at a time...I have a lot of projects going on right now.  I need to sew Tarzan and Jane's costume for li'l misfit's class and I also need to sew Knight and Warriors for Big Misfit and the other parents are going to make the costumes together :) should be fun!  For now, I'll post their swimming pics ;)

we're sick...

just when I thought Big Misfit is about to get well, on Wednesday night she suddenly got another fever!!!  She's been sick since early last week :'( and hasn't been going to school....So yesterday, The Misfits and I went to the doctor...I myself got the flu from Big M so I went to see a doctor for some prescribed antibiotics...took Big M to a doctor and Li'l M for a vaccine shot.  This morning, Li'l M got the fever as well arghghghghghghghghggh....So, yes...3 of us are sick :'(...My lovely parents are kind enough to take them to the Mountain Villa....hopefully with the cleaner air there, they'll get well soon :'(...I miss my hectic and noisy house...though it's kinda nice having the house to ourselves too :)...Thank you Dad...Mom...

On a happier note...last Wednesday I took the children Bowling :).  Big M has been nagging to go to the bowling alley.  So, while I gossiped with my close friends, we let the children play two games :D...they had a blast...they basically just pushed the ball from the "stage" :).  At first, li'l M was reluctant and refused to play (typical of her...shy in the beginning) but after seeing her sister, she decided to play along, specially after we put the stage there :D...and in the end they had a bit of a fight (typical of them).   I do miss bowling, though...When I was still freshman in college, I used to play almost every single night during my first summer session at Purdue...ahhh memories...bowling, anyone???

recipe book cover

yes yes...it's something I was meant to finish LAST YEAR...I know I know..I've been a total slacker...well, to defend myself, it was not totally my fault :D...Catherine gave me the wrong size last time! And when I tried fixing it, I ruined the beautiful fabric...but I could still salvage them and turn them into a wallet, maybe?? :)  That's next on my to do list, I guess.  So, this time I use a pinkish oil cloth fabric which I'm sure she loves, since she loves pastel colors :).  It's a very special recipe book...made by her aunties and siblings :)...a family recipe book they printed online, which I think is a very sweet idea :).  I'll wait patiently for her cooked foods ;)

On another note...I've been reading comics like crazy using my e-reader :)...TOTALLY justify my spending!!!! I can now download all the comics and upload them on my beloved e-reader :)...for free!  I even donated some to the site since it totally worths donating :D.  You can have one too here in Indonesia through papataka!  I LOVE MY little black reader :D..I bring it everywhere I go now...the downside is...I'm not very productive :p

We've been getting a couple of Christmas orders at Sewmanics.  A PJ or Nightgown in a pouch with personalized names :)...The other one will include a hairpiece or an eye shield (but I have not got the time just yet).  I do love how these turned out..busy busy

happy birthday, ms.congeniality

Today's Carina's birthday and we wanted to give her something special.  For someone who has just about everything, Astrid recommended us giving her some blank cards and gift tags, since she wanted these when she saw someone did a personalized cards at JICC Bazaar.  So, I traced her picture, her husband and her lovely daughter and made them into caricatures and printed them.  I've also included some gift tags with hers and Val's face :).  I sewed the pouch, put the cards into a rattan basket and presented the whole package to her :).  We hope you enjoy them, Car!

stupid me...I sewed this pouch for my blank moleskin...the kind I made for my sister..only bigger.  I've made sure the sizes are okay and YET it's too small :'( plus I've used my precious ink and spindle...so I don't think I'll do anything to it now :'( booo hoooo

welcome back, baby

My sick baby is home :)...thanks to my very good friend, Catherine...for carrying to Singapore :) and my beloved cousin, Ginny, for carrying it back from service :D...I truly appreciate all of your efforts...I know how troublesome it's been for both of you, since IT IS a very heavy machine that needs to be hand carried ... thank you thank you thank you.  It's been too long :)...I love you my sweet bernina :)

misfit's homemade ice cream

Yesterday I've decided to make a strawberry ice cream with Misfit :).  You see..I have this ice cream maker that's been lying on the corner of my house, collecting dust...and since I went to Magic Pantry last weekend, I've decided to rekindle my romance with my "cooking" hobby.  Misfit looooves the ice cream :) and now she's asking to make a chocolate ice cream :).  Oooo I wish I have a big kitchen with a big island...it will happen...one day...hopefully in 1-2 yrs ;)

I'm happiest when the kids can play along peacefully...even IF they wrestled each other :) like crazy :) and hearing their little giggles made me smiles :)...they're the best therapy to my life (at times hehehee)

sewmanics diaper bag

Well, this was a special order from a special friend ;)...I don't think I want to redo this order again :D...mainly because of the not so simple sewing part :D...but who knows...practice makes perfect, eh?? She requested a personalized diaper bag for a little baby boy.  So I chose the plane and hot air balloon for the theme.  Inside it, I've included a diaper pouch with matching nursing cover (I LOVE THE WAFFLE fabric I used for the wipe).  Then, two kimono PJs, a set of 5 bibs, a blank card and dust cover for the bag.  I worked extra hard and I really hope the customer is happy (fingers crossed).  I promise you...I SHALL make a TUTORIAL for this :)...It's actually kinda cool to make...though time consuming :).

bateau pencil case

I looove boats :D, sailors and all...and I had to sew something special as a pencil case.  For a moment I was lost...then I found my synthetic leather material :)...and I thought...why not?  So I made a boat theme on the pencil case :D and no, I did not top stitch the case, because it would TOTALLY ruin it (because the D*%N fabric is so hard to sew).
