a day with my new toy

My classic kitchenaid is dead and currently being fixed and I don't know when I'll get it back...and I've been wanting to get a kitchenaid professional, but I don't really have space for it...but I just gotta have it :D...I don't think I can wait till we move to our new house...no can't do.  So, yesterday I've decided to make small fried doughnut....I've let it rised over night and popped it in the refrigerator this morning...and it FAILED miserably hahahahhahaha...somebody please give me a pointer!!!

I love this KitchenAid, it does not give me any electric shots (which I got from my US classic KitchenAid, since I had to change the voltage).  So, I decided to make my own butter!  My sister encouraged me to do so...she said she's been making her own butter and it tastes good!  I googled and youtubed and finally decided to do it.  I used greenfields' whipping cream and voila! my very own butter! From butter, I couldn't get enough of the mixer and decided to make chocolate coffee loaf using MY OWN BUTTER!  A good cuppa chai and a slice of chocco loaf to end my day....yum :)

flower pouch from handkerchief

I got this beautiful batik from a college friend's wedding.  I think you can use it as a bandana or a little scarf or a handkerchief.  But I don't think I'll use it for any of the above...so after staring at it for a few days...I've decided to just turn it into a flower pouch.  The fabric is soft and  has 2 color tones and I did it in less than 10 minutes, while Li'l M's fever is down....oooo don't you just hate sick kiddos? :'(

Top-Bottom, Left-Right: Square handkerchief with 2 colours.  You can make it into an envelope pouch  or you can just sew it into a flower pouch...easy!

faux envelope clutch

Last weekend, my youngest sister came to my house, took a picture of the fabric she had chosen and asked if she could use it to make an envelope clutch.  While I was away, she made her pattern from a paper bag, cut the fabrics and voila...when I came home she was almost done sewing and complained she had to adjust the pattern a bit and started using the dreadful seam ripper :D.  Before she left my apartment, I asked her to leave the bag and took some pictures of it :).  Nicely done!  Now, I'm not sure if this is the correct pattern she used :)...but you can definitely try sewing your own envelope clutch.
